Dove Canyon is a prestigious, and private community in the southeastern foothills of Rancho Santa Margarita, California.
Dove Canyon is comprised of about 5,000 residents, and 1,200 homes. Community amenities include access to the local golf club, swimming pool, playground, tennis courts, open spaces, a reservoir, and shopping center. Horse trails begin at the edge of the community by the waterfalls, and continue into Coto de Caza. This is especially popular with horseback riders, bikers, and hikers.
Dove Canyon is under the jurisdiction of Capistrano Unified School District which offers facilities like highly ranked Tijeras Creek Elementary School, Las Flores Middle School, and Tesoro High School. Families may also choose from several private elementary schools nearby like Serra Catholic, St. John’s Episcopal, and Mission Hills Christian School. The Santa Margarita Catholic High School is affiliated with the Catholic Diocese of Orange. Close by are the institutions of Saddleback College and the University of California, Irvine.
There are many parks in this region like Pajaro Park and many recreational activities in the Cleveland National Forest. Within this community is the Dove Canyon Country Club which has the only private Jack Nicklaus Signature Course in the county. The Dove Canyon Plaza has several restaurants and fitness merchants as well as nail, hair, and cleaner services.
Rancho Santa Margarita is a private master planned community built among rolling hills and one of the newest in Orange County. Most of its home construction was done between 1985 and 2000.
